Curious about beekeeping? This hands-on beginner class is the perfect introduction to the fascinating world of honey bees. Learn the basics of hive management, bee biology, seasonal care, equipment, and how to safely work around a hive. You’ll gain a better understanding of the important role pollinators play in our environment while building the confidence to start your own beekeeping journey. Whether you’re considering your first hive or simply want to learn more about these incredible insects, this fun and educational experience is designed for all ages.
Participants should wear long pants and closed toes shoes. A Protective Jacket and veil will be provided.

Learn the fundamentals of beekeeping through a fun, hands-on experience. This beginner class covers honey bee biology, hive components, essential equipment, seasonal hive care, and basic hive management. Participants will suit up for a guided live hive inspection (weather permitting), enjoy a local honey tasting, and receive a beginner’s beekeeping handbook to continue learning at home.
